I thought people workout to lose weight. How does it help in weight gain?
I am trying to gain weight. But as I eat more and work out, I am just burning the calories needed to gain weight with working out. So how is working out helping to gain weight, when everyone always says to workout to lose weight?
Ok, working out does work well for weight gain, but there are more things you have to do. Like eating, you need to eat A LOT, of healthy foods packed full of protein. If you eat the RIGHT things, you can/should eat up to 2500-3000 calories a day pending on your stature and weight. Also, you have to do weight training, not toning. Actually progressively build MORE muscle. Combine those things and you should get bigger faster.
first, you need to lose fat, but then you begin to build muscles, and muscle weighs more than fat. you can do less reps of heavier weights, to get larger muscles and gain weight. hope that helps.
Well you can work out to lose weight of course. First you have to lose some of your fat percentage. And you have a small fat percentage then try dietary supplements. Like muscle gain stuff. Try to go the your local GNC. They tons of weight gain stuff. Mainly muscle gain.
Best thing to eat after workout and still lose weight/gain muscle?
I'm 5'8" and 180 lbs. I don't necessarily want to lose weight, but want to cut the fat. What's the best after workout snack/meal to achieve such results? When I was trying to put on weight, I'd have a protein shake after a workout--but since I'm not really trying to more weight on what's the best thing to eat/drink?
How come I gain weight when I workout but lose weight when I stop?
I should add that I never changed my diet, I am 50 pounds over weight. So it seems weird. I can understand that I would build muscle, but gain weight? Shouldnt I have burned fat considering I wasnt eating more when I worked out?
well as you stated you will gain muscle but you will also burn a little fat... if you use a lot of weight and less reps than you will gain more muscle and mass...if you use little weight and more reps then you will get cut ,lean, and burn fat from were the areas you worked out
Muscle weighs more than fat. Write down what you actually ate, and cut back 500 calories. Keep exercising, it does really help. I am overweight too, I am also impatient, and I feel the weight should have never got on me-- even though I ate 3 dough nuts in one night, or a banana split on the next night--in addition to my regular foods:) I keep telling myself, just keep exercising, and thank the Higher Spirit that you still have that choice:)
Short workout to lose weight and gain abs?
So I'm looking for a 10-15 minute workout that I can do every morning that will help me lose stomach weight and start developing some abs.
 This could be something that I do before or after a run, what are your suggestions?
